Project title “What does it take to get a better match? A comparative analysis of dating apps”
Lab: IDIAP under the direction of Prof. Daniel Gatica-Perez
Supervision: Jessica Pidoux and Prof. Daniel Gatica-Perez
To start ASAP
Project summary: Dating apps are changing the way people date. To better understand matching algorithms, this project will investigate structural functions on dating apps available, with respect to graphical user interfaces. The student will review literature about matching algorithms and computational methods for data extraction and analysis. We seek to conduct a comparative analysis between different apps used in Switzerland. An interest in social sciences is expected in order to reflect on the impact of matching algorithms in the dating experience from the users’ perspective.
